I am an umpire in Texas, and my association is going to allow us to wear numbers next year. I would like to honor Josh Gibson by wearing his number, but I can't seem to find out what number he wore. Does anyone have a definitive answer on this? If he wore more than one number, which did he wear most often, or which did he wear when he played for the Grays?
Please give me an answer only if you are positive. I really would like to be wearing the right number.

I have a "starting lineup" figure of Josh in his Homestead Gray uniform with number 20. This is probably not the only number he wore in his career however "starting lineup" is very good at authenticating their figures uniforms,numbers, shape, features and such. I would feel comfortable with #20. Call-em as you see-em blue Good Luck.
