I have some sports memrobelia featuring Paige and I can only see the front of his jersey and can't see his number. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

I know that I've seen Satchel wearing #26 in some photos from a book I read some time ago. Sorry but I don't recall the title. But being my favorite ballplayer of all time, I'm certain of the number. That was with the Monarchs in the 40's. I think it is probably safe to say that as much traveling from team to team as he did he more than likely wore several different numbers. I can't say if there is one number that he is known to claim as his number.

I can't verify if Satchel wore any other numbers but in the book titled The Negro Baseball Leagues (A Photographic History) By: Phil Dixon with Patrick Hannigan. On page#197 theres a picture of Satchel beginning his stretch on his left leg you can see the #25.
