The last thing I heard about Mamie Johnson she was still living in Washington, D.C. Mamie played one season with the Indianapolis Clowns as a pitcher and utility player in 1954. Connie Morgan if I'm not mistaken is still alive.

Connie Morgan is dead. Mamie played 3 years. She has a Negro leagues memorabilia shop just outside of washington and is doing well.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mamie "Peanut" Johnson this weekend at AFRAM festival in Baltimore, Maryland. Not only is she alive and well, she was moving to the music! She is one of three women having played in the Negro Baseball League. I assume Connie Morgan was another. Who was the third?

The third woman who played with the Clowns
was Toni Stone. She passed away a couple of
years ago.
