Negro League Baseball Discussion Forum: Former Players – Information Exchange: Family Outfield for the Homestead Grays

I recently asked a friend of mine whose father seemed to rub shoulders with a number of African-American personalities, especially those in the Pittsburgh area, regarding stories involving the great Josh Gibson. In his response, he indicated that his father recalled Josh and Satchel Page had indeed stopped by the house on occasion.
He also mentioned that "the family tale is that my Grandfather and his 2 Brothers were an all family outfield for the Homestead Greys (sp) at one point." Their names were Sid, Robert and Ed Allen.
I have been unable to find any confirmation of this combo? (I forgot to ask the years.) Any help would be appreciated.

I can find no record of either Sid, Robert or Ed Allen having played for the Homestead Grays or any other Negro League team during the period from 1920 to 1950. (The Homestead Grays disbanded after the 1950 season.)
I have checked both our own player database, the statistical database that we are presently compiling from published box scores, and Riley's Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues, and can find no entry for any of these men.
