Lefty Ricketts played for Louisville, the Kansas City Monarchs, and the Indianapolis Clowns. His career lasted between 1936-1948.

Lefty is in poor health, and doesn't remember many details of his playing days. I thought it would be nice to find out as much as I could, to share with my coworker (his son).

Does anyone know if there is a searchable database of former players?

My appreciation for any advice you can give!

We are in the process of compiling a database of former players that would be searchable online. However, as you can imagine, this is quite a daunting task. Literally, thousands of men played on Negro League teams at various times, and it is quite a difficult job to gather information on all of them. In fact, it is probably impossible to make a complete compilation.

However, I have searched our data records and all of the materials in our library (including Riley's Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Leagues), and I have been unable to find any mention of Leroy Ricketts. So, any information you might be able to provide would be appreciated.
