hello everyone,
i am developing a real passion for the Negro Leagues. not just for the stars but for the everyday journey men who filled out the rosters. my grandfather has told me many stories of the visitng teams playing on the parkside ave side of Fairmount Park in Phila, Pa, so i plan to gather my own history of the Negro Leaues from a Phila point of view.
if there is anyone who can lend a hand, that would be great. Also if there is anyone who has info re the Phila Hilldales, please email me at [email protected].

I would start by obtaining a copy of James Riley's Biographical Encyclopedia of the Negro Baseball Leagues. He has done extensive research on players and teams. There are also a lot of web sites devoted to the Negro Leagues and they can be helpful. These can lead you to numerous other resources.

I was told that Walter (Poncho) Mobley played for the Negro League. Either in Detroit Mi or down South somewhere. Would anyone know this information or where I can go to find out if this is true
