Can anyone tell me if the Kansas City Monarchs would have used the name "Royals" on their uniforms when barnstorming around 1948? Or was there another Negro League team or barnstorming team called the Royals around that time? Also, do you think a game between an African American barnstorming team and a white team (possibly All Stars from the majors) that took place at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles (the minor league stadium) would have been covered by sportswriters?
