Hi out there.

In the past few years I've been collecting the major league cards of former Negro Leaguers. According to my books, about 50 or so Negro Leaguers made it to the big leagues. Some had substancial Major League careers (Aaron, Banks, etc.)and some were only in the "bigs" for a year or so. I've got about 11 so far. While some cards (Robinson, Campanella) are priced WAY outside of my budget, the ones I do have (the likes of Junior Gilliam, Curt Roberts and Monte Irvin) are inexpensive ($8-15/card)and nice ways of preserving a unique piece of Black American history.

Anyone else into this particular field (pun intended) of baseball card collecting?

Jeff Lee
