I am interested in doing research on the effects on the Black communities due to the dissolution of the Negro Baseball League[s]. it certainly was a call for celebration that black baseball players were getting a chance to compete w/white players in the big leagues. This was also the death knell for the Negro Baseball Leagues. Little has been written [to my knowledge]about the negative effects of this. I am interested in research pointers and feedback. this is a potential research paper topic.

I have only recently joined the discussion group here, so I hope you are still interested in this topic. I agree that the effect must have been devastating. The lack of Blacks in the front office today is indicative of the haphazard way in which Major League Baseball was integrated. If you interested, I'd be glad to share some of my thoughts with you on this topic.
