Hi, I am new to this group and I congratulate the group for it's valuable contribution to this important topic. As the owner of The Caren Archives newspaper collection, I am doing a number of books (Castle Books) using my newspapers to tell the history of various topics. My current project is a 2 volume newspaper history of baseball, which begins in the mid-19th century and comes up to the present. I have rarities like The Ball Players Chronicle (1860's); Baltimore and Boston papers from 1914 on rookie Ruth; Chicago papers on the Black Sox; Boston and Pitt. papers on the 1903 World Series, etc. What I don't have is good Negro League coverage except for a nice group of Jackie Robinson era Washington Afro Americans. I only work from originals, so microfilm is no use. I will pay appropriate prices for 1920's-30's Negro League sports sections or pages. Can anyone assist me or direct me to someone who can? Much obliged for any assistance. This is an important aspect of the history of the game and I want it to be represented well in both my collection as well as my books. Then the only missing link will be Womens Pro Baseball (40's-50's) a real tough one for me. Have had an easier time finding 16th and 17th century events!
