I am writing a paper on the Negro Leagues in Pittsburgh, 1930-1940. I read somewhere that up until the 1950s, the Negro baseball was the largest and most lucrative black-owned and operated business. Has anyone ever read this same statement, and if so where? I need to get documentation for this statement.
