Mamie “Peanuts” Johnson To Speak In Portsmouth

Mamie Johnson who played with the Indianapolis Clowns during the 1950s will be speaking in Portsmouth, Virginia, on Saturday, August 19 at the Art Atrium II Arts Center and Gallery at 341 High St., Portsmouth, Va. She will speak about her playing days in the Negro Leagues and will autograph Negro League baseball paraphrenalia. On the evening of the 19th Ms. Johnson will throw out the first ball at the Norfolk Tides baseball game.
